Studies are individualized and progress is monitored with assignments, quizzes, and laboratory evaluations.
Office Administration Requirements
Students start Office Administration core courses becoming familiar with general business practices, computers, the most current Microsoft Office software, other office applications, and office equipment. Then, students will begin an introduction to Human Resources, Records Management, and Web-Based Technologies. Students will learn Workplace Communications, Technical Writing (both written and oral), as well as Resume Preparation. Since office administrators may become hiring managers, students will be exposed to human resources from a “hiring” position. In the last three terms, the student will specialize in either Business Administration or Healthcare Administration to enhance their career and hiring potential. Business Administration specialization focuses heavily on the use of office technology to achieve maximum output. Healthcare Administration specialization focuses on healthcare-related software, medical office procedures, accounting, medical terminology, insurance, and medical billing procedures and records’ filing and management.
